Anoj Singh Disciplinary Committee Hearing postponed

In the course of preparing for that hearing, SAICA became aware of information that has recently become available in the public domain that implicates Mr. Singh. In light of this, SAICA is considering the new information and will possibly be amending the charges against Mr. Singh.

Applications open for 9 non-executive members to serve on the SAICA Board

In July 2018 the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Board announced the establishment of a Governance Review Task Team (GRTT) led by Roy Andersen CA(SA). The GRTT mandate included the review of SAICA’s governance structures and defining a more diversified and balanced Board inclusive of independent persons from outside the membership of SAICA, with the necessary skills and experience to provide strategic guidance.

SAICA’s progress with the recommendations of the Ntsebeza Inquiry Report

Johannesburg, 24 June 2019 - The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) established the Ntsebeza Inquiry in November 2017 following wide-spread reports of wrongdoing by KMPG relating to the audit of Gupta companies and the SARS Report amongst others. KPMG audited the group of Gupta companies that were implicated in corruption. KPMG also conducted the forensic investigation into SARS that culminated in a discredited report that caused significant damage to SARS.
